As part of the confidential Pentagon files that have been leaked to the public due to a recent mysterious security leak, there are documents which reveal that the Egyptian president met with high-level representatives of the military industry in his country and ordered them to secretly produce 40,000 missiles for Russia.
Of course, the production and transfer of the missiles was supposed to take place in deep secrecy, since officially Egypt supports the American position. However, as it turned out recently, in fact Egypt intended to produce weapons for Russia, especially in large quantities.
The leaked document was a very unpleasant event for the Egyptians, who immediately responded by denying the information. Nevertheless, high-ranking Pentagon officials refused to deny the content of the document, while not confirming it.
The U.S. Senate is already making calls for measures to be taken to affect relations with Egypt if the information published in the media is true.
One way or another, the revelations undoubtedly undermine the position of the current Egyptian leadership in the US, which in turn, in the current situation, is in Israel’s interests.
Remarkably, the leaks took place in the middle of the Pesach holiday. In other words, the shock that struck Egypt happened very symbolically, just when we remember the Egyptian plagues and the redemption of the people of Israel from Egyptian slavery.
It is worth mentioning that the previous Lapid-Bennett government irresponsibly, some might even say recklessly, helped to strengthen Egypt and al-Sisi’s position by agreeing to sell Egypt American advanced F-15 planes.
For decades Israel had been lobbying the US to put the brakes on this deal, but the previous Lapid-Bennett government had not just given its consent, but actually initiated the sale of American F-15 jets to Egypt. They were ultra-modern F-15 jets of the latest model, the likes of which Israel has none.
Now that the truth about Egypt has been revealed, even the most enthusiastic Congressmen, who have so far supported arming Egypt with the most advanced American weapons, would probably have a hard time continuing to advocate this policy.
I suggest that this scandal, in fact, could deal a severe blow to further sales of advanced American weapons to Egypt, at least in the near future, for as long as support for Ukraine, at least on paper, is a priority for the U.S. administration. It is clear that further events in Ukraine also have an impact on what will happen around Taiwan. If the U.S. fails to effectively suppress Russian aggression, it would provide massive stimulus for China to try to invade and annex Taiwan. Therefore, it is unlikely that the U.S. would be willing to so easily forgive Egypt’s intention to transfer such quantities of missiles to Russia.
However, on this Passover, thanks to the grace and miracles of the Almighty, the Egyptian doctrine of increased military power received a crushing blow.
