Early in the morning, the IDF launched preemptive strikes against Hezbollah systems deployed for rocket attacks on Israel. The Israeli government declared a special state of emergency in the rear for the next two days. Ben Gurion Airport was closed for several hours.
Hezbollah launched 200 rockets at cities across northern Israel within a short period. No damage has been reported so far…
IDF Spokesperson Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said the military was continuing to thwart Hezbollah’s attacks on the country, amid the rocket and drone fire.
“We are removing threats to the Israeli home front. Dozens of planes are now attacking targets in different areas of southern Lebanon,” Hagari said in a morning press conference.
Among the targets in Lebanon were a strategic site in Tel Aviv (likely the IDF General Staff), a power station in Hadera, as well as Ben Gurion Airport and other civilian facilities.
Prime Minister Netanyahu stated: “We have prevented Hezbollah’s attack. The IDF continues to actively neutralize threats.”
Today is the 21st of Menachem Av, and the number 21 corresponds to the word “Truly” in Psalms, where it says: “Truly, God is good to Israel.” Give thanks to the Almighty, for He is good, for His love endures forever!
