The Iranian authorities have officially announced the relocation of the capital from Tehran. Reportedly, one of the leading options is to move the capital to the city of Makran in the southeast of the country.
Why has the Iranian regime suddenly decided to undertake such a dramatic move?
There are several reasons for this: the enormous population density in Tehran, poor infrastructure leading to frequent power outages and water shortages, as well as a serious problem of ground subsidence, which directly results in damage and even collapse of buildings.
What does such a relocation symbolize? It clearly signifies the current Iranian regime's inability to cope with the city's escalating infrastructural problems, which have snowballed to the extent that they are left with no choice but to move the capital elsewhere.
