It turns out that, in addition to the human losses suffered by the organisation, it is also experiencing serious economic difficulties.
Hezbollah has announced the cessation of welfare payments to tens of thousands of families in Lebanon whose homes were destroyed or damaged during the war. As is well known, after the ceasefire, Hezbollah had pledged to compensate each affected family with substantial sums for purchasing new furniture, securing temporary housing until reconstruction, and even fully restoring their homes.
However, the terrorist organisation has now declared an end to this funding.
According to various reports from the Arab world, this decision stems from Hezbollah’s miscalculation of the scale of destruction suffered by tens of thousands of buildings across Lebanon — far more than during the Second Lebanon War. Over the past year, as the IDF carried out daily strikes on southern Lebanon, expanded operations into central and northern regions, and eventually launched a ground manoeuvre, tens of thousands of buildings were destroyed, with many more sustaining damage — an extent beyond what the organisation can financially sustain, despite significant monetary inflows from Iran.
Moreover, Iran itself is facing economic difficulties due to the Trump administration’s ongoing tightening of economic sanctions.
Additionally, Israeli strikes on banks and branches of Al-Qard al-Hassan — Hezbollah’s financial institution — have caused severe economic damage by destroying bank offices, safes, gold and jewellery reserves, as well as large sums of cash. This coincided with the collapse of Hezbollah’s Captagon drug empire in Syria, which fell apart alongside the regime of Bashar al-Assad.
These major financial losses have placed Hezbollah in a dire economic situation. It is also likely that Israeli cyberattacks have played a role in further undermining the organisation’s financial capabilities.
At the end of the week, our Air Force struck several Hezbollah targets, both deep within Lebanon — acting to „eliminate threats“ — and in response to the launch of a Hezbollah reconnaissance UAV (which the IDF intercepted the day before).
Thank G-d, by His mercy and miracles, our enemies have suffered and continue to suffer heavy blows!
