US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a joint press conference at the White House, where Trump presented a plan for the Gaza Strip.
He proposed that the US take control of the Strip after the Arabs are resettled in neighboring countries such as Jordan or Egypt. Trump described Gaza as a „demolition site“ and suggested „razing it to the ground and creating in its place the Riviera of the Middle East.“
Netanyahu supported Trump’s initiative, calling him a „great friend“ and stressing the need to „finish the job in Gaza.“ He noted that Trump „thinks outside the box and brings fresh ideas.“
Trump did not rule out the possibility of sending US troops to ensure security in the region, saying: „We will do what is necessary, if it is necessary, we will do it.“ He also announced plans to visit Israel, Gaza and Saudi Arabia, but did not specify the possible dates for these trips.
