The untapped mine is estimated to contain at least 13 million tonnes of copper, along with substantial deposits of gold and silver.
According to the CEO of Lundin Mining, the project has the potential to become one of the highest-quality open-pit copper mining operations in the world, as well as one of the largest gold and silver deposits globally.
