In the present days we commemorate the 32nd the Gulf War anniversary. The first Iraqi rocket attack, on the night of Thursday the 3rd of Shvat 5751 (18.01.1991), brought eight rockets down on Israel. All of them, thanks to a miracle granted to us by the Almighty, did not cause any fatalities. Only a few people were slightly wounded and had to go home on Friday!
A second attack with Scud missiles was launched by the Iraqis on Saturday mornings on the 4th of Shvat (January 19). This time four rockets were fired into Israel, all into the central densely populated area of the country.
One rocket hit a basketball court, right next to a shelter built near the Beit Dany community center in the a-Tikva neighborhood. The rocket completely destroyed the shelter, but by the miracles of the Almighty, on that very night, it remained empty because the key to the entrance was lost. There was no one in it!

The Scud missile completely demolished this empty shelter, which absorbed the full force of the blast. However, another similar shelter nearby, in which a lot of women, children and elderly people were hiding, was not damaged at all. However, it is even more frightening to think what could have happened if the missile had hit that one and not the one, whose keys had been so “luckily lost” the day before.
As a result, only a few people from nearby houses were injured by this missile. They were all lightly wounded and allowed to return home from medical center the same day, or the next day.
A more extraordinary miracle happened in one of the houses — a part of the rocket fell on it, penetrated the ceiling and hit a small room in which there were seven people. But no one there was hurt!
The owner of the house, Hanoch Wolfson, described the miracle to the Hadashot correspondent as such:
"Suddenly we heard a heavy crash, and the whole house began to shake. The room filled with dust and a huge hole opened up in the ceiling... Just a second before a big rocket chunk hit the corner of the room, my daughter and her child were there! My daughter grabbed a baby cocoa bottle, took literally two steps forward, and... boom — rocket wreckage crashed into that exact spot. They hit the chest of drawers on which the book of TANACH, signed by the Lubavitcher Rebbe SHLITA, King Moshiach, was lying. It is really an amazing miracle that in such tiny room with seven people, no one was hurt.
