On 18 February 2025, official negotiations took place in Saudi Arabia between high-ranking representatives of Russia and the United States. One of the key outcomes of the meeting was the agreement to fully restore the operations of diplomatic missions.
According to the Russian side, Moscow and Washington will work towards creating conditions for a meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.
During the negotiations, Russia and the U.S. agreed to establish a dialogue aimed at resuming economic cooperation, including in the fields of energy, space, and other areas of mutual interest.
It is important to note that this event coincided with the reading of the Torah portion Mishpatim, which, among Chabad Chassidim, is associated with the events of 1992, when a meeting took place between Bush and Yeltsin. At that time, the Lubavitcher Rebbe delivered a remarkable speech, in which he not only revealed that he is moshiach, but also explained how he influences the nations of the world, urging them to enter into mutually beneficial agreements and arms reduction treaties.
Official high-level negotiations between Moscow and Washington, which seemed impossible under Joe Biden’s administration, took place less than a month after Donald Trump assumed the presidency of the United States.
A week before this, Trump had called the President of Russia, and they decided to arrange a face-to-face meeting. Additionally, Trump stated that they agreed for their teams to „immediately begin negotiations“ to end the war in Ukraine. According to Rubio, resolving the conflict will require all sides to make concessions. The agreement must be acceptable to all parties, ensuring a just and lasting peace.
Let us hope that the results of these negotiations will come to fruition in the best possible way, and that we will witness the fulfilment of the prophecy (Yeshayahu 2:4): „And He will judge among the nations and rebuke many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, nor shall they learn war anymore.“
