In a talk on the Torah portion Yitro on the 20th and 22nd of Shevat, 5752 (January 25 and 27, 1992), the Rebbe, King Moshiach, revealed that the leader of our generation has undergone three general periods. The third of these began following the passing from this world of the daughter of the Rebbe Rayatz on the 22nd day of the 11th month — 22 Shevat, 5748. From that moment, the final stage of the world’s preparation for Redemption began.
The Rebbe explains that on this day, the aspect of “10” becomes fully united with the aspect of “11.” The “lower world” becomes a dwelling place for the Essence of the Almighty. And on 22 Shevat, this reaches an even greater elevation, as we find ourselves after the completion of the work of refining the world—including the final “polishing of the buttons.”
All that remains is to be ready to greet Moshiach. And on this day, the Jewish people receive all blessings from the Essence of the Almighty.
