Shock and chaos continue to reign in Hizbullah and Lebanon in general. The terrorist group, which turned an entire country into hostages, is trying to recover from the incredible blow dealt to it. Thousands of people are injured, with hundreds of them seriously or fatally wounded. The death toll is still unclear, but it appears to be in the dozens.
In Lebanon, citizens are being urged to donate blood urgently. Blood donation tents have been set up in numerous places throughout Lebanon. Doctors are in short supply, so dentists have been called in to help, to come to hospitals and treat the wounded along with all the doctors and other specialists. According to one eye surgeon in Lebanon, there is a severe shortage of eye surgeons and basically the capacity to treat multiple eye injuries.
The need for eye surgeons, of course, arose from the fact that moments before the pagers went off, they received a fake message purportedly from the Hizbullah leadership. Many hundreds of terrorists picked up the pagers and held them close to their faces to read the message. At that point, the pager exploded.
It is reported, though Iranian authorities fiercely deny it (well, you betcha), that Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon lost one eye completely and severely damaged the other.
The strike was stunning and crushing, injuring thousands of terrorists to varying degrees, including hundreds of commanders, dozens of high-ranking officials, and their guards and assistants.
By some estimates, more than 4,000 of the 5,000 pagers that were sent from Iran and distributed to Hizbullah terrorists about six months ago exploded. Note, Hizbullah switched to pagers, that is, rather outdated equipment, to protect its communications system from Israeli intelligence capable of listening to and tracking terrorists through their smartphones. A batch of pagers with the logo of a Taiwanese company, as it now turns out, was manufactured by a European firm on the order of the Iranians from components obtained from a third party. The explosions, however, were caused by a small amount of explosive (3 or, according to other sources, 20 grams) that was embedded in the devices as part of one of the components.
No one has yet claimed responsibility for this brilliant operation. „Hizbullah blames Israel for it. But if so, why was this operation decided to be carried out now?
The reasons could be several:
1. Israel could have noticed Hizbullah’s preparations to escalate hostilities and decided to launch a preemptive strike.
2. Israeli intelligence could have concluded that Hizbullah suspected something wrong with the pagers, so they decided to act quickly and take advantage of this brilliant piece of equipment before it was neutralized by Hizbullah.
3. The operation could have been undertaken against the backdrop of the decision to initiate military action in the north. Note, the Harris-Biden administration, hostile to Israel, threatens the Israeli government not to dare attack Hizbullah first, in addition the administration, through its envoy Amos Hochshetein (by the way, a Jew and an Israeli), demands, for the sake of being able to return the inhabitants of the north to their homes, to make territorial concessions. Iran would prefer, in this situation of convenience, to get concessions from Israel without military action. The operation is not an attack that would enrage Washington, but it is very likely to leave Hizbullah no choice and force it to try to attack Israel, which would allow us to respond or strike preemptively and secure the northern border by force.
We, for our part, see many and great wonders in this incredible event.
Firstly, the sheer success of placing explosive charges in thousands of pagers in such a way as to arouse no suspicion for five months is clearly an unprecedented event.
Secondly, the obviously incredible success of the operation — across Lebanon, as well as in Syria, a classified network of terrorists was uncovered, losing both ties to their organization and body parts, if not their lives. At the same time, thousands of terrorists were hit, including hundreds of commanders and dozens of high-ranking officials and even (here’s a surprise) Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon. At the same time, the harm to civilians was minimal, and Israeli soldiers were not at risk at all.
We keep asking G-d, blessed be His Name, to destroy our enemies, without war with them, but by miracles alone. What we witnessed yesterday is a remarkable example of a „miracle in the guise of the natural course of things.“ Thousands of explosions simultaneously struck thousands of our enemies without any danger to our fighters.
In Hasidism, such a „miracle clothed in the natural course of things“ is considered more important, amazing and majestic than a miracle that obviously violates the laws of nature.
It is hard not to notice that the one who made this miracle possible was the leader of Hizbullah himself. For the past year, the wicked man, cursed be his name, has been demanding that his people stay away from cell phones and eliminate their use, for fear of being tapped and tracked. His demand was the main reason that Hizbullah ordered 5,000 pagers (as it has now become clear „with a surprise“). In other words, the Hizbullah leader himself is responsible for the subsequent injuries and deaths of his terrorists. He is the one who brought all these people into a heavy disaster. Didn’t he?
Isn’t that the reason why it was said, „their sword will enter their own hearts and their bows will be broken“. „Hizbullah did not use this communications network to organize good deeds, but it did transmit instructions to its operatives, commanders and senior officials to organize terrorist attacks throughout the past five months. In the end, it was this communication network that became a death trap for them, hitting only those associated with the terrorist organization!
Despite the severe blow, including to its reputation, the terrorist organization has, at least for now, kept itself from declaring war on Israel. We see in this a manifestation of the words of the Torah: „Let fear and trembling fall upon them — they will be petrified by (the) might that falls upon them“!
The incredible success of this operation, which one foreign Arab military analyst yesterday called „the greatest preventive operation of our time,“ has shocked not only Hizbullah, but all our enemies, who now have no choice but to tremble at every phone call and be afraid to use any electronic device...
Let us also note that if the hypothesis that the operation prevented Hizbullah from attacking us or prevented it from disarming thousands of traps is true, that is also a great miracle. And praising G-d’s miracles everywhere is one of our duties. „Let us give thanks to G-d because He is good, and His mercy is everlasting“!
