Advocates of pressure on Israel continue to fail around the world. Karim Khan, the chief prosecutor at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, who initiated the prosecution of Israel and actively advocated for sanctions against Israeli leaders, including attempts to issue international arrest warrants for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other senior Israeli officials, has found himself in a mildly embarrassing and difficult situation himself.
Serious allegations have been made against Khan in recent weeks, involving inappropriate behavior and allegations of sexual harassment against ICC staff. He has reportedly been urged to suspend himself or even resign.
We believe that Israel’s adversaries and haters, G-d willing, face failure sooner or later.
Failures that catch up with those who seek to harm Israel also occur at the level of entire nations. An example of this is the current presidential election in the United States, where President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris suffered a crushing defeat at all levels — they lost the presidential election by electoral votes and by total votes, lost their majority in the Senate and, apparently, in the House of Representatives.
Leaders of radical Islamic groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah have also suffered serious losses. In fact, their struggle against Israel has only further weakened their own position.
Turkey under Regep Tayyip Erdogan, which used to have a strong economy, is also facing serious economic difficulties, and its national currency and economy are experiencing an unprecedented crisis.
A similar situation is occurring in Iran, where recent Israeli military attacks and economic sanctions have caused the country’s currency, the rial, to hit a record low of about 700,000 rials to one dollar. As a result, Iranians are facing a serious devaluation of their own savings and a reduction in purchasing power, which is especially noticeable when buying imported goods.
Perhaps international leaders and the world at large should reflect on the lessons of these times: want to succeed? Follow the path of leaders such as Argentine President Javier Milay, former and future U.S. President Donald Trump and others who support Israel and are making progress along the way, not only for themselves but for their countries and peoples.
