A member of the Foreign Affairs and Security Committee of the Iranian Majlis (Parliament) has made an official announcement in which he said that Iran will receive 24 modern and high-quality military aircraft Su-35 jets from Russia .
These are the latest multipurpose, super maneuverable 4th generation fighters. In fact, this jet is one of the latest Russian fighters, with great quality features, both in intercepting and attacking.
In fact, the Su-35 is the most advanced aircraft currently developed by the Russian military-industrial complex. According to the reports the only one that is better than the Su-35 is the Russian stealth aircraft, the Su-57, but the latter has not been operational even in Russia itself, and certainly not exported for sale.
For the past two months, the Israeli government has been seriously concerned about the growing ties between the Russian and Iranian regimes. Now, after the current official announcement of the Su-35 contract, it is clear that the relations between the dictatorships have indeed reached a qualitatively new level.
Russia, as it appears, in return for the delivery of hundreds of Iranian strike drones used in the continuing aggression against Ukraine, will provide Iran with its most advanced weaponry.
There is no doubt that the Israeli government has made a lot of a behind-the-scenes effort to prevent the supply of advanced Russian weapons to Iran. However, it seems that Putin is extremely interested in the current alliance with Iran. The Iranian air force has now been significantly upgraded.
So far, we are talking about one squadron of fighter planes — 24 aircraft, which, apparently, will be used to protect Iranian nuclear facilities from possible Israeli attacks.
It should be noted that the last time Iran bought modern fighters was 30 years ago. Therefore, until now there has been a serious qualitative gap between the Iranian and Israeli air forces. Now this gap will be significantly reduced.
Nevertheless, Israel still has a significant advantage due to the fact that it is the only country in the Middle East that uses dozens of American-made stealth aircraft.
In addition, Israel also has many high quality fighters and is going to buy another squadron of the latest model F-15 jets, as well as another squadron of stealth aircraft.
This way Israel will be able to maintain a tangible qualitative advantage. In addition to that Israel has a significant advantage in electronic warfare, cyber security, air reconnaissance, air refueling capabilities, quality of pilots and quality of intelligent weapon systems.
The arrival of Russian fighters in Iran is expected in approximately 1,5-2 months. It is possible that there will be strong international pressure on Russia by that time, which will force the deal to be cancelled or at least postponed.
