During Operation "Home and Garden", 300 suspected terrorists and terrorist collaborators were arrested. By the grace of G-d, more than 18 terrorists have been killed and 150 wounded.
The terrorist operating and command headquarters and ammunition depots were destroyed. Over 1000 ready-to-use charges, as well as dozens of explosive devices and shells intended for vehicles, were confiscated.
The strike suffered by the terrorist groups in Jenin is certainly heavy. Nevertheless, from our point of view, the current army command, despite the intention of the government, conducted a rapid and early withdrawal of forces from the Jenin area. As a result, according to army sources, some of the terrorists escaped elimination and arrest by fleeing to various locations within the so-called "refugee camp," including a local hospital.
During the night, five rockets were fired from Gaza. All of them, by the grace of the Almighty, were successfully intercepted by the Iron Dome system. In response, the IDF attacked several Hamas positions.
Terrorist sources, of course, interpreted the army command's decision to call off the operation as a victory, boasting that the IDF was forced to withdraw under their fire. These statements were quite expected. Unfortunately, there is a possibility that the army command's desire to shut down the operation so quickly in spite of the government's opinion will actually damage the deterrence factor.
